Texoma Patriots -July 2021 Newsletter #1
Our July meeting is Wednesday, July 14, at 7 p.m. Our speaker is Chad Prather, candidate for Governor of Texas in the 2022 election We are meeting at the Red River Cowboy Church, 3800 Highway 691, Denison - https://goo.gl/maps/ 9Ar6QMMcFh1mpAu49.

He is often called the “modern day Will Rogers,” and is unafraid to speak his mind. Prather is equally at home on stage or behind the wheel of his pickup truck. Chad believes in winning the race with his values and integrity. The horrors of the COVID pandemic affecting thousands of families in Texas urged him to run for the next governor. He wants to be a common-sense voice for Texans.

August 17th, Tuesday, we will welcome our Texas Agriculture Commissioner, Sid Miller. Meeting location is Kentuckytown Baptist Church, 264 Kentuckytown Road, Whitewright. Start time 7 p.m. During his tenure, Texas has faced many challenges. Rural hospitals, farmers, ranchers, parents, and students, and every consumer in our state has been touched by the pandemic and the winter storm. Sid has worked hard to meet the needs created by these challenges while expanding agriculture markets for Texas goods. He is running for re-election in 2022.
This 4th of July, commemorating the Declaration of Independence of the United States in 1776, is celebrated this Sunday. Be safe and enjoy the time with your friends and relatives.
A new group is forming in Grayson County - the Conservative Men’s Club of Texoma Their next meeting is 19 July - time 6:30 p.m. - at Tracks Restaurant, 109 N Woods St, Sherman, TX. Our current Republican Party of Texas Chairman Allen West has resigned. His replacement will be selected by the State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) on July 11th. So far, four individuals have declared they are running for the position - Matt Rinaldi, David Covey, Chad Wilbanks, and Bill Burch. You can view a recording of the forum here. Our SREC members are doing a canvas of SD30 members to find out our ‘druthers. Give your input to Deon neon_deon@verizon.net or Britton brittonbrookslaw@gmail.com. Governor Abbott has scheduled a special session of the legislature to convene on July 8th. It is imperative the legislature pass Election Integrity reform after the conference bill SB7 failed to receive a vote in the House. Changes are required to ensure it is easy to vote, but hard to cheat in TX. The Democrats walked out of the session so there was no quorum, thus no vote. Other priorities that should be passed are gender modification, the protection of our electric grid and, of course, reigning in the powers of a governor in an emergency situation. Contact our TX Rep Reggie Smith or TX Senator Drew Springer with your concerns or requests.
