How Important Are Secure Elections?
On March 30th we are meeting to discuss ELECTION SECURITY bills currently before the 88th Legislature. Mark your calendar and join us.
We will be meeting in the Grayson County Courthouse Assembly Room (2nd floor), 100 W. Houston. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Meeting starts at 7 p.m. Access is through the Lamar Street door across from Knight Furniture. You may take the elevator to the 2nd floor (or walk the steps if you want the exercise). Doors will lock at 7:30 so if you are late and want to enter, we will post a telephone number on the door that you can call.
Mark Cook who is an Election Cyber Security Expert, IT Specialist & software developer, will be zooming in to our meeting. He will give demonstrations of how vulnerable our election computers are and how easy it is to manipulate them. He uses the tools in the voting system, proving that they are not secure. Vote totals can be changed. Easy as pie! You will find his demonstrations interesting and startling - at least we did.
There is also a possibility that Maria Zack of Nations in Action will be able to join us as she is in town. Check out the NiA website nationsinaction.org. Learn about Italy Did It.
We the People of Texas deserve secure elections that are accurate and transparent (reviewable and auditable) with those who violate our election laws being held accountable! Therefore, we need our elected officials of the 88th Legislature to support legislation that seeks to minimize the opportunities for election mismanagement and manipulation.
As you may know, our representative, Reggie Smith, is Chairman of the Election Committee on the House side. Our senator, Drew Springer, is supportive of the laws we want passed this 88th legislative session. We will talk about some of the bills that are working their way through the legislature. Please try to attend Thursday's meeting.
Tea Party events are fun, friendly, and free. Remember that everyone is welcome to our meetings. There is no charge to attend, but donations are appreciated, and there are no membership dues. Meet friends & neighbors.
It’s time to Speak Up! Be loud and proud! We can no longer be the silent majority.
