It’s election season - it’s time to be thinking about what legislation we want our elected representatives and senators to pass during the 88th legislative session which starts January 2023.
Is something amiss in Texas? Texas is the 9th largest economy in the world. Republicans have controlled both the state legislature and every statewide office for nearly two decades, yet they seem more concerned with maintaining the status quo than actually cutting the size and scope of government.
At our meeting Tim will discuss the mission of the organization as well as how together we can hold Austin accountable using the fiscal index and the Texas Prosperity plan! He will show the most effective ways to engage lawmakers as well as effective strategies to change Texas policy towards a limited government. The Plan includes: Banning Taxpayer Funded Lobbying, Eliminating the Property Tax, and Adopting a No Growth Budget - all are planks in the GOP Platform.
Tim Hardin serves as the President and CEO of Texans for Fiscal Responsibility. He is a small businessman and pastor. He served as Chief of Staff in the Texas House of Representatives for 8 years.
