Meet the Candidates!

Join us on Tuesday, January 6th, and meet some of the candidates running in the March 3rd Primary Election.

Come to Grandy’s meeting room in Sherman, TX, 3201 Texoma Parkway.  The Meet the Candidates starts at 7 p.m., but come early and eat with us and talk with the candidates before the meeting.

The following candidates have confirmed that they will be there to talk with you:

Perla Hopkins is candidate for Texas Lt Governor

Perla is a champion for TX families! She is an Air Force veteran, a mother of 3, and an educator. She fought tirelessly to address the fentanyl crisis, border security, elimination of property taxes, medical freedom, human trafficking, the obscenity exemption, to name a few measures.  She’s ready to serve again.

Nate Sheets is candidate for Texas Agriculture Commissioner

Nate is a 5th-generation Texan, Trump Conservative, Navy veteran, and Texas agriculture entrepreneur.  His campaign is about fighting for Texas families, protecting our farmers, ranchers, and producers, and making sure our food is clean, safe, and proudly grown right here at home.  Make Texas healthy again!

Tammy Reddic is candidate for Grayson County Clerk

Tammy is a retired probation officer and has over 30 years experience in record-keeping and reporting to the courts. Currently she works in the county clerk’s office and believes new technology will be the key to easy access to records & documents.

Art Clayton is candidate for District Judge in the 397th District Court

Art has spent more than two decades as a prosecutor and attorney, handling both criminal and civil cases.  Important to him is helping victims and litigants, giving every-one a voice in the courtroom and striving to be a good steward of the legal community.

John Huckle is candidate for Grayson County Commissioner, Precinct 2

John decided to run after he witnessed firsthand a government agency with limited authority and families left without protection.  He recognized he had a responsibility to fight—not just for his family but for everyone. He’s a full-time beekeeper and Christian.

  • Another Meet the Candidates event is scheduled for February 9th at Grandy’s, and we have invited other candidates for you to meet and talk with.  Please plan to attend!

The Republican Primary Election on March 3rd is our chance to select the best candidate for the job.  We are trying to help you, the VOTER, have more information about the candidates so you can make informed decisions.  Those candidates who win in our Primary will run in the General Election on November 3, 2026, against the Democrat and/or Independent.  Plan to vote and take friends and relatives with you.
