Reminder! Legislative Recap is Tonight

Tonight, June 15, at 6:30 p.m. the Texoma Patriots are meeting at

Buck Snort BBQ, 224 E. Jefferson St, Van Alstyne

We will be discussing the Recap of Texas 87th Legislative Session with Sen Springer and Rep Smith. Come learn what happened from January through May at our state Capitol.

Texas Senator Drew Springer and Representative Reggie Smith are coming to tell us what took place in Austin as the Texas state legislature met and tended to the affairs of “We Texans.” What was accomplished? Some described this 87th session as a failure since they only passed one of the Top 8 + 1 Legislative Priorities voted on by the delegates at the State Convention or voted on at a Texoma Patriots meeting. Come tonight and find out.

Our two elected officials are coming to inform us about what new laws passed, which ones never made it for a vote and why, and what’s on the Governor’s desk awaiting signature. Republican Party of Texas (RPT) priorities this session were Election Integrity, Religious Freedom, Children and Gender Modification, Abolition of Abortion, Constitutional Carry, Monument Protection, School Choice for All, and Ban Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying. The plus 1 was Reforming Emergency Powers. We added the Electric Grid. The state legislature only meets once every two years for 140 days.

Text or Email any questions you have about the session to 214-232-7518 or texomapatriotsofficial@gmail.com.

Come early and dine with us before the meeting. Jim’s delicious barbecue buffet opens at 5.

Bring your friends and neighbors tonight. Everyone is welcome. There is no charge to attend our meetings.
