Help us welcome Lt Col West to Van Alstyne. West is running for Texas GOP chair, challenging
current party leader James Dickey for the position. Come early as Colonel West is scheduled to
arrive at 6 p.m. He will be there starting at 6 p.m. to sign his book Hold Texas, Hold the Nation -
Victory or Death and take pictures with our attendees. His book will be for sale ($28 cash or check).
Allen West, a former congressman from Florida, announced he is running
for Texas GOP chair, challenging current party leader James Dickey for the
position. “I’m jumping back into this fray,” West said in a Facebook Live
video. ”As I look ahead as to how I can continue my service to this
constitutional republic and the great state of Texas, my family and I ... have
decided to explore the opportunity to be the next chairman of the
Republican Party of Texas," West said. “We need to have strong,
principled voices — constitutional conservatives.” He noted he wants to
“strengthen our families,” to “stand up for life,” and to secure the U.S.-
Mexico border, among other things.
Restaurant doors open at 5. Meeting starts at 7. Jim offers us a special price for the buffet on meeting

Meeting will be at the Grayson County Courthouse, Commissioners Courtroom, starting at 7 p.m.
- Feb 24 - Candidate Forum for Local Public Office GOP Candidates running in the Primary Election
Meeting will be at the Independent Bank, 1270 West Van Alstyne Pkwy., Van Alstyne, TX, at 7 p.m.
Candidates running for County Commissioner Precincts 1 and 3 and Constable for Precinct 4.
- Mar 9 - The speaker is SMU Professor Dr. Robert Lawson. His talk is titled Socialism Sucks. Two
semi-sober economists have toured the socialist world so you don’t have to. And they’ve come
back with this stunning report - Socialism Sucks. It’s a fun talk on the serious topic of Socialism
at 903 Brewers, 1718 S. Elm St, Sherman. The restaurant will not be open.
- The Trump Victory 2020 team has requested we make phone calls or do voter registration on
